About

This websites main purpose is to portray the every day findings at my internship with the Audubon Society of Rhode Island. Starting in early May, I began the conservation based internship by cleaning an repairing nine nesting boxes located at the Touisset Wildlife Refuge in Warren Rhode Island. The main goal of this internship was to attract the Eastern Bluebird and monitor its breeding success. However no bluebirds visited the refuge this year, leading my internship to take a different direction. Instead of monitoring the Eastern Bluebirds, I was now in charge of monitoring the nest boxes of different song birds, such as House Wrens and Tree Swallows. With monitoring I was responsible for collecting data such as the type of species in each box, number of eggs, chicks and fledglings. I was also required to take occasional notes on different observations while at the reserve.
